After the epic push and late night of the day before we had an extra 30 mins in bed (we know how to live) and lingered over breakfast until the day warmed up a bit.

Said our good byes to Kevin (thanks again for the hospitality) - and set off through the iconic streets of LA on route to the beach - stopping first for coffee.

Chapter 8 - We arrived in Queenstown, on the South Island of New Zealand, and were immediately struck with
how cold it was. During our last day of cycling in Australia the temperature had risen to 43 degrees –
New Zealand was such a contrast, at best it was 10 degrees and the temperature fell as the sun went
down.

We finished packing leaving the room in a bit of disarray after an errant tissue found it’s way into the washing resulting in confetti all over the room.

It was chilly as we packed up the tent and ate breakfast in the campsite kitchen. We set off in search of coffee and found it in a cafe dedicated to trucks -(the cafe was covered in truck pictures ).
